"We’re All Millionaires" is a group show of contemporary artworks that are to be sold for 1 Million Rupiah. The exhibition concept aims to poke fun at the cultural misconceptions of the term “millionaire”, and address the oddities of art economics and ownership status.

This is the form the results of discussions with friends who are featuring in this art works. About legend of the Notonogoro (Java Legend). The sign of her figure leaders who will bring the nation forward, even that will be the lighthouse of the world.

me as an artist and my artistic practice

I am members of the prints artist group of pisangseger (literary : fresh bananas) that mostly work with prints, in line with my background as graduates from the Departement Prints of the Indonesian Institute of Art, Yogyakarta.

My works mostly contain distinct visual idiom in the form of prints. However, I has also explored an array of other media that I some times combine with one another –starting from medium of printmaking, silk screens, acrylic, mural, digital prints, to three dimensional object in closed spaces and in the outdoor, as shown in my mixed-media art project that I specifically made to be used in an open public space. I am managed this art project in my self, along with several fellow artist.

Aside serving as the locus for my media exploration, my works mostly present my observations on the contemporary Indonesiaan youth. I tries to present and simultaneously deconstruct the independent spirit -or the so- called “indie’ spirit- that often colours the expressions of the youth of my generation: the generation that experiences the tumultuous transition from the spirit of collectivity to the growth of individualism, the transition that has more or less formed characters.(FW)
